Membership Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of A1cHero (the "Service"), operated by A1cHero ("A1cHero," "we," "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use the Service. By using A1cHero, you represent that you meet these requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of someone else (for example, as a caregiver), you represent that you have authority to do so.

2. What A1cHero Does

A1cHero helps people with diabetes find and organize manufacturer cap card programs, copay savings programs, and patient assistance programs that may reduce their out-of-pocket medication costs. The Service includes three main areas inside your dashboard:

Find (See Savings) — enter the medications you take, and we match them against our library of cap card, copay, and patient assistance programs to estimate what you could pay.
Manage — track which programs you've already enrolled in, save your card details (BIN, PCN, RxGroup, Member ID) for reference, add notes, and watch renewal dates.
Budget (Track) — set a monthly diabetes-care target and see how your tracked spending and estimated savings compare against it.

A1cHero is informational and organizational software. It is not health insurance, a health plan, a pharmacy, a healthcare provider, a financial advisor, or a bank. We do not underwrite risk, process insurance claims, dispense medication, prescribe treatment, or provide medical or financial advice.

3. Your Account

You can create an account using an email address and password or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for any activity that occurs through your account. Notify us at john@terra-bate.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

During onboarding and throughout your use of the Service, you may provide information such as your diabetes type, diagnosis date, insurance status, state, ZIP code, preferred pharmacy, medications, current monthly costs, and self-reported cap card enrollments. You agree that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We may use, store, and process this information as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Pharmacy Transaction Verification (Plaid)

If you opt in, A1cHero uses Plaid in read-only mode to monitor pharmacy transactions on a bank or card account you connect, solely so we can help you confirm that cap card discounts are being applied at the register. Plaid is never used to move money, initiate payments, or access data unrelated to pharmacy transaction verification. You may disconnect Plaid at any time from your account settings. Plaid's own terms and privacy notice also apply to data Plaid collects.

5. Savings Card Uploads and AI Extraction

You can upload a copy of a manufacturer savings card you have enrolled in (PDF or image) to your Manage screen. We store the file privately in Firebase Storage scoped to your account, and we use OpenAI's API to read the BIN, PCN, RxGroup, and Member ID off the card so those fields are pre-filled for you. OpenAI does not train on your data, and inputs are deleted by OpenAI within 30 days. By uploading, you represent that the card is your own (or one you are authorized to use, e.g. as a caregiver) and that you understand we will run the uploaded file through OpenAI's API for this purpose. You may delete the image at any time from the Manage screen.

6. Programs Operated by Third Parties

The cap card programs, copay programs, patient assistance programs, and state safety-net programs surfaced in the Service are operated by third parties (drug manufacturers, foundations, state agencies, and others), not by A1cHero. We do not control, endorse, or guarantee these programs. Eligibility, pricing, terms, availability, and quality are set and changed by the program operators. We try to keep program information accurate but do not warrant it, and we have no obligation to update it on any schedule.

Always confirm eligibility, pricing, and current terms directly with the program operator before enrolling or making a purchase decision. A1cHero is not responsible for any program operator's decision to approve, deny, modify, suspend, or discontinue your enrollment, or for any out-of-pocket cost you incur.

7. Public Tools (Calculator and Waitlist)

Our public savings calculator lets you estimate potential monthly savings without creating an account. Inputs you provide to the calculator are anonymous and are used to compute results and improve our matching logic. Our waitlist form collects your name, contact information, and mailing address so we can send updates and fulfill any promised gift items via email (Resend) or SMS (Twilio). Use of these tools is also subject to these Terms.

8. SMS / Text Messaging Program

If you provide a mobile phone number on our public waitlist signup form at a1chero.com/waitlist, you expressly consent to receive transactional text messages from A1cHero related to your waitlist signup, our product launch, and shipment of any promised welcome gift. Providing a phone number is optional. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

Message frequency: Low. Typically 1 to 3 messages per user across the entire waitlist program. Message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier's plan; A1cHero is not responsible for these charges.

Opt out at any time by replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message you receive from us. You will receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, after which no further messages will be sent. Reply HELP or INFO for assistance, or email john@terra-bate.com.

We use Twilio as our SMS service provider. Carriers, including but not limited to T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon, are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Your phone number and mobile opt-in data are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes under any circumstance.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information; (c) attempt to access another user's account or data; (d) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or interfere with its operation; (e) scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from the Service except as expressly permitted; or (f) use the Service to impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.

10. Account Deletion and Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the Account section of your dashboard. When you do, we retain an anonymized record for compliance and product feedback, but you will no longer be able to sign back in. We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe in good faith you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including the A1cHero name, logo, content, design, and software, is owned by A1cHero and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

12. No Medical or Financial Advice

Content in the Service — including matched programs, estimated savings, budget targets, transaction alerts, and any informational text — is for general informational purposes only and is not medical, pharmacy, or financial advice. It is not a substitute for advice from your healthcare provider, pharmacist, or financial professional. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in the Service.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. A1CHERO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PROGRAM, PRICING, OR ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION DISPLAYED IS COMPLETE OR CURRENT.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, A1CHERO AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, via email or in-product notice). Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and A1cHero each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
